From his blog: The arrival of the luxurious Qantas A380 aircraft

On Sunday, September 21, Australian airline Qantas will welcome to Australia the first of 20 of its luxurious A380 aircraft, having flown via Singapore from the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France.
The Qantas A380 aircraft takes flight over Sydney, Australia.

Affectionately referred to as the Super Jumbo, the A380 will be welcomed into the Qantas fleet at a ceremony in Sydney, which Simon Turner, founder of Marquette Turner Luxury Homes, has been invited to attend.

Marquette Turner Luxury Homes certainly recognizes the luxurious credentials of this amazing aircraft, and we are very excited at the prospect of viewing the best cabin design in the sky, which has been overseen throughout by world-renowned industrial designer Marc Newson.

The Qantas A380 offers four different classes of service, including an extremely luxurious class.Simon will have the honour of being one of the first proud Australians to view first-hand Marc’s stunning creative touch to all four classes on board the aircraft, First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy, which will no doubt truly reflect “the Spirit of Australia.” To view the interiors and take an interactive tour of the aircraft from the comfort of your chair, simply click here.

Qantas will operate its first A380 commercial passenger service from Melbourne to Los Angeles on October 20, 2008, and its first Sydney-Los Angeles service on October 24. Two additional A380s will be delivered by the end of 2008.

Simon will report back to you post-ceremony on Sunday.

Marquette has a background in medicine and a large retail and wholesale business. While some airlines falter in changing times, others thrive, like in this example. That’s wonderful that Turner was invited to attend this event. I look forward to hearing how it goes.

The beautiful Statue of Liberty in New York City.Rosita Sarnoff, the Executive Vice President of Stribling & Associates, Ltd., recently shared some great activities her company is planning for Luxury Real Estate members who are attending the Post-Conference Networking Trip to New York City from Oct. 14-16, 2008. This Networking Trip will begin right after the 13th Annual Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference in Philadelphia.

From 3-7 p.m. on Oct. 15, Rosita said that Luxury Real Estate members will enjoy tours of magnificent luxury properties and a cocktail dinner in a $38 million Penthouse and at the newly renovated Plaza Hotel. “We’re going to give them a terrific afternoon,” Rosita said.

The afternoon will begin in a full-floor condominium overlooking Central Park that was recently offered on the market by Stribling & Associates. It includes 4,400 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a personal gym and library. After spending some time in that luxury home, they’ll head next door to the world-renowned Plaza Hotel. They’ll be given a grand tour of the hotel, eventually finding their way to the Rose Club restaurant, where they’ll enjoy gourmet food.

The Plaza Hotel was recently renovated and will be toured by Luxury Real Estate members at the Post-Conference Networking Trip. Photo copyright of Oquendo on Flickr.By the way, the Plaza Hotel was recently redesigned so that it now includes both hotel rooms and hotel condominiums. I wrote an article about hotel condos in the winter 2008 issue of LuxuryRealEstate.com Magazine. Check it out if you’d like to know more about those interesting properties.

Only one Luxury Real Estate member from each geographic area will be able to attend this Networking Trip and reservations are sure to go fast, so be sure to sign up today! Brokers and agents will be able to speak freely and build relationships they otherwise might miss out on at both the Fall Conference and Post-Conference Networking Trip. We look forward to seeing you there.

Each year some of the best tennis players in the region and country come to the Seattle Tennis Club on the shores of Lake Washington for the 118th Washington State Open.

John Brian Losh and the Ewing & Clark – Our Distinctive Home Shop team have been one of the headline sponsors for this notable event for over 10 years. Jane Powers, Betsy Losh and John Brian Losh all very much enjoy being a part of the Seattle and Madison Park communities. Together, they sponsor several key events throughout the year.

There are so many positive events like this going on and I’m pleased to hear about all of them. Philanthropy should be an important part of every business that hopes to succeed. People recognize true kindness when they see it and I think it builds trust just as much trust and goodwill as successful track records and financial performance. Be sure to show how much you care!

There are so many positive events like this going on and I’m pleased to hear about all of them. I find truly remarkable the inherent sense of generosity and justice in many Americans who enjoy such abundant wealth. John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates and many other incredibly rich Americans have given back to their fellow citizens in wonderful ways.

From his blog: Move to Bend Oregon for the Music

Brooks and Dunn, a popular country-music duo, are set to play at the Les Schwab Amphitheater on August 6, 2008.One of the reasons people are buying homes in Bend, Oregon is the music. The Les Schwab Amphitheater is where a lot of that music happens. It is a beautiful outdoor riverfront amphitheater built in the historic Old Mill District in 2001. The amphitheater was named in honor of a remarkable Central Oregonian, Les Schwab.

The amphitheater canaccommodate approximately 8,000 patrons for concerts and other events in a casual outdoor setting. All summer long it will host some of the biggest names in entertainment plus free concerts by local and national performers every Sunday.

BB King just finished a concert here. Brooks and Dunn will perform on Wednesday, August 6th. Cheryl Crow will be here on Thursday, August 28th. There are many other great artists who will be performing through August. Music is one of the many reasons people live in Bend. You can see the schedule of performers here.

Jim Johnson is the Principal Broker of Century 21 Gold Country Realty. He has lived in Bend, Oregon since 1981 and is familiar with its finest properties. In case you’re familiar with the Western United States and you’re curious, yes the Les Schwab mentioned in the first paragraph is that Les Schwab. We welcome wonderful blog entries like this in the LuxuryRealEstate.com Blog. Share the positive points of your communities so potential buyers can see different sides of cities they might miss otherwise.
