Beaver Creek, CO (January 2012)—Fuller BCV Sotheby’s International Realty, a leader in the sale and purchase of luxury residences throughout the Vail Valley, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Steadman Clinic Vail Cup. Free and open to youths age 14 and under, the race series includes a variety of ski and snowboarding events for all abilities beginning on January 22nd and ending with races and a barbecue on March 18th. A detailed schedule and information is available at www.VailCup.com.

“We’re very excited to be a sponsor of this tremendous community event, which has been part of the Vail Valley since 1963 and has become a great way for kids and their parents to be introduced to and experience various types of competitive skiing and snowboarding,” said Kraig Forbes, head of the Fuller BCV Sotheby’s International Realty office and a leader in the local real estate market since 1995. “The event represents the incredible ‘winter sports spirit’ that exists here in the Valley and that our team is very proud to be part of. We invite anyone and everyone to join us at the event for a hot chocolate during the races!”

In 1963, the newly formed Ski Club Vail hosted its first Rocky Mountain Ski Association race, and the Vail Cup was born. More than 40 years later, the Vail Cup was reborn as an exciting and challenging series of events encompassing all programs offered by Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV).

  • Events on 5 Sundays (January - March) with a Finale BBQ on the last day (a complete schedule is available at www.vailcup.com)
  • Events held on Vail Mountain's Gold Peak and at the Vail Nordic Center
  • Includes a combination of two of the following events each day: Giant Slalom races, Moguls, Nordic and Park & Pipe
  • Open and free to youth ages 14 and under
  • Open to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities

We’re on to Aspen, Colorado in the latest article on the Language of Luxury blog. Luxury Real Estate members interviewed in this article are Brian Hazen, Robert Ritchie, Bob Starodoj and Tim Estin of Coldwell Banker Mason Morse, Steven Shane and Wendy Lucas of SDS Real Estate, and Doug Leibinger of Chaffin Light Real Estate.

“Aspen, Colorado has long been considered a world class ski resort that attracts wealthy and famous visitors who seek the Rocky Mountain high life. Yet, the Aspen lifestyle, as described by locals, evokes a deeper, richer story, a story centered on a very strong sense of community that began in the late 1800’s when it was known as the most productive silver-mining district in the United States.”

Park City Real Estate is a great investment when it is acquired at a great price!

Park City is unequivocally the easiest ski town to get to in the West.
While others are spending full days, and multiple sky high air fares trying to reach every other ski town, Park City vacationers are skiing in the afternoon of their arrival and in the morning of their departure.

Park City is the only ski town in the west where you can take a Thursday to Sunday vacation and ski all four days!

Park City represents the absolute best real estate value in North America!

This is a statistical fact, not an opinion. Park City was largely undiscovered before it was hoisted onto the worldwide stage by hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics. In the past nine years, the popularity of our town has skyrocketed, but prices are still a fraction of those found at other popular resorts such as Aspen, Vail and Telluride.

Compare us to Colorado, your dollar stretches almost twice as far, and you have a major international airport 30 minutes away!

Watch this short video, and you will know why Park City is the best!

ASPEN IDEAS FEST TICKETS: Tickets for the 2012 Aspen Ideas Festival will go on sale November 7th to the general public (and October 31 to donors)!

WIDESPREAD PANIC: Once again, the word is out that Widespread Panic will be playing an uncommonly small venue in the Roaring Fork Valley. But this time the information seems far more reputable and believable. Monday afternoon, Belly Up Aspen — which has hosted B.B. King, Jane's Addiction and Blues Traveler, sent out an email alerting fans that Panic would be playing a three-night stand, Feb. 17-19. There's an on-sale date for tickets — Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. — and a ticket price — $350 for general admission — that might be eye-popping, but makes sense given the 450-person capacity of Belly Up and the rare experience of seeing Widespread Panic in a small-club setting. The shows have been posted on the band's website.

THE ASPEN LAFF FESTIVAL: After thirteen years as the featured site for the HBO/U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, and three years as the co-producer and home of the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, the Wheeler stepped up in 2011 to present its own unique four-day comedy experience, where comics got to do what comics do best: Everything funny. The 2012 event is being planned right now, so mark your calendar. Come ski all day and laugh all night as we present the most brilliant new voices in comedy in a variety of stand-up and improv events at the Wheeler! Save the dates for our second Aspen Laff Festival - Wednesday through Saturday, February 22 - 25, 2012.
