Nice idea to share about the International Boat and Yacht show. As luxury buyers look in each city, it is probably one of the more common questions that gets asked "what homes do you have with boat slips?". Understanding what boat or yacht they have is essential to helping them with their real estate goals.

Excellent comment, James. Thank you very much for taking the time to point that out. I actually wrote an article on luxury properties with boat slips and nearby marinas in the spring 2008 issue of LuxuryRealEstate.com Magazine. I can definitely vouch that waterfront luxury homes are very popular, and yacht owners can be quite choosy about where to park their boats. Thanks again for your insightful words, James!

Hi Robert, The most ideal place for clubbing all luxuries is the Yacht Show. I would like to share something which may be of your interest to review. Sotheby's France Owner and CEO has written a book 'Living in Luxury' which cascades the beauty of french homes and luxury living. I'm posting this for your information and for your to share this to anyone of similar interest. About "Living in Luxury – Inside the World’s Most Glamorous Homes”, published by international publishers “Thames & Hudson” (London, NY, Hong Kong), written by Alexander V. G. Kraft, long-term executive of Sotheby’s and owner of Sotheby's International Realty France – Monaco (and, of course, asw - member): This highly elegant coffee – table book features on 200 pages not only 20 of the world’s most breathtaking properties from around the globe, but also provides for the first time ever a comprehensive introduction into the fascinating world of luxury real estate, its history, markets, mechanisms, movers & shakers, including the Do’s & Don’ts of acquiring luxury properties. From the Palm Beach - mansion of Donald Trump to the Richard – Neutra – masterpiece of Vidal Sassoon in Bel Air, from the legendary Krupp – estate in Marrakech, Morocco, to the French château of the “Sephora” – cosmetics – founder Domique Mandonnaud, the book presents a unique mixture of 20 very different properties from around the globe, each presented on 6 – 8 full pages. But in addition to those lavishly illustrated properties, the book also provides the first-ever reference guide for luxury real estate as a whole, and explores its fascinating history (from the Romans to the Rothschilds, from King Louis XIV to the Beckhams), worldwide markets (New York, London, Hong Kong etc.), movers & shakers (from Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe in the 1950s to André Balazs nowadays), trends, prices, rules & regulations. Published by renown international publishers Thames & Hudson (of “Hip Hotels”-, “Tom Ford”- and “Gucci by Gucci” – book – fame), the book will be officially released beginning of November, but is already available for pre – order on Amazon, at Barnes & Noble and many other book sellers. The foreword is by Donald Trump, the afterword by Henriette von Bohlen und Halbach. http://www.amazon.com/Living-Luxury-Inside-Worlds-Glamorous/dp/0500514178/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1222774251&sr=8-1

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing such a long comment. It's a little advertorial (if that's a word), but your words have plenty of interesting points in them, as well, so I don't think it's a problem. Have a great day!

Great conversations going on here Robert (on this post and your whole blog for that matter) :). Thanks for directing me to the link for the magazine article that you wrote. It definitely keeps me inspired to keep documenting on our website and blog about the homes here in Long Beach with access to slips.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your honest feedback.
I'm myself a blogger and I do understand that if there is something on a blog which is not of the persons interest or of any external influence, then the blog and the post would look and feel like an advertisement.
(but this blog is well maintained in all aspects).

I have a request and would be glad if you could do that. I have typed the title of the book as 'Luxury in Living' but the actual title is 'Living in Luxury'. Hope you can edit my comment and republish it.

Thanks

Brian

Wow! So many comments and so little time. Now this is what I like. :) I'll start by pointing out that I just modified your comment, as you requested Brian, so that the title of the book reads "Living in Luxury." Thank you very much for asking. I apologize that you don't have the option to modify your own comments on our blog. It seems like that would be a standard feature. Also, I wish the comments section would remember people's names, email addresses and Web sites so we wouldn't have to type them in every time we want to comment on something. The easier the better when it comes to technology, I say. Also, you're welcome for the honest feedback about your comment. I am all for promotion and talking about related topics, so I appreciate your taking the time to share them. Also, it doesn't hurt that you throw in a few compliments about how well-maintained our blog is. :)

Last, but certainly not least, thank you shashindra for your comment. I enjoy talking about a variety of subjects in my blog entries, some dealing with luxury homes, others with luxury boats and events, and still others about trends and ideas not necessarily related to luxury. I'm so glad you found this discussion about the International Boat and Yacht Show interesting. Thank you all for adding to this fun dialogue.

Dear Brian, By the way, it just hit me that you were talking about a coffee-table-quality book filled with pictures of properties, and that's exactly what Ilya Moshenskiy, the Principal Photographer of Ilya's Photography, is an expert at doing. I highly recommend emailing him at ilya@ilyaestate.com or calling him at 425-883-2246. I'm sure he'd love to talk to you or Alexander Kraft. Anyway, that's my little plug. :) Thank you very much for your comments, again.
