Joey, I am looking forward to meeting you at the LRE conference! I will try and call tomorrow to get a new domain pointed at our LRE website. Anyway, my questions about your topics... Social Networking - is LRE considering creating a platform like ActiveRain or the others for its membership to leverage? If not which of the social networking platforms do you recommend? How much concern do you have regarding some of these social networking platforms being purchased in part or total by large real estate entities (either Brokerages or marketing firms like Move.com) that may use the authority of the platform that we help build to compete against us?

Technology Roundtable - Part II Marketing Tools - I think it is great to see the schedule for the LRE conference having such a strong emphasis on referrals and technology. With NAR's latest 2007 Profile of Buyers and Sellers reporting that the top places where Buyers First Found the homes they purchased as the following: Realtors - 34% Internet - 29% Yard Signs - 14% In addition to having Professional quality photos, complete informaiton and the commission % are there specific techniques that you have seen that are most effective in getting the top agents to select properties over others? Regarding Internet Marketing - a number of my colleagues elect not to promote their listings on the new emerging real estate portals like Trulia, Oodle, Homes.com, Point2Homes and others. There arguement is each time we provide them our clients listings it just adds to the new content on their sites and makes our jobs and Brokerages and Agents more difficult to compete. What are your thoughts on this issue? We have started experimenting with having an IDX display that works with cell phones like the iPhone and Blackberrys - some of my colleagues want to be able to have a system text infomation requested to regular phones. My personal belief is the window for text messaging will be very short and phones like the iPhone with displays will quickly become the standard. Is this one of the new technologies that you will be discussing? Even with all the buyers looking online at properties - the statistics still show that most buyers are finding their agents via personal referrals. Are there techniques and tools that LRE advocates that we can integrate into our business that can help us become more effective in getting personal referrals other than knowledge of the market and experience?

LRE Technology Roundtable - Part III - Listing Services Again, thanks for posting the topics in advance. It will be great to hear from your panel. Regarding Listing Services - I have used Point2, Postlets and Vflyer.com in the past to provide more exposure for listings. One of our goals has always been to try and find the way to get our clients the most potential exposure with the least data entry required. The efforts to minimize the data entry is perhaps more important when dealing with price changes, status changes and other listing changes than the pure time involved in initially posting the listings on various platforms. Many of the website providers now offer automated entry into the major real estate portals like GoogleBase and Trulia. My two questions are 1) Have you found a way without violating MLS agreements to be able to syndicate the data and provide updates without having to have a manual entry system? and 2) There is a huge value from branding as well as lead capture to have the listings display either the Brokerage name or Brokerage website on these sites. Services like Point2 frequently display the Website providers name or URL. What are your thoughts on this topic? Thanks again
